JOB TITLE
Planner, Backlog Reduction Project
SITUATION IN ORGANIZATION
Reporting to Backlog Reduction Project Control lead N+1, Lead Backlog Project N+2 in Field Operations Division.
ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop, maintain, monitor and control of NOC's Backlog Reduction Project plans (Campaign and Shutdown, Fabric Maintenance and Projects) ensuring that they are realistic achievable and in line with NOC Corporate Planning cycles and business objectives
  • Comply with HSE policies and procedures for delivery of high quality service and a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Cover dual responsibility for planning (level 4 plan) and scheduling (SAP interface).
  • Report on progress on daily basis and build forecast of completion
  • Prepare POB estimation (Trade Mix).
  • Prepare the mobilization & Demobilization plan for POB & equipment.
  • Update schedule and S curves (DPR)
  • Prepare and contribute to periodic IOP review

JOB DIMENSIONS

  • Planner under the Backlog Project Control Lead, works closely with the Project team members and stakeholders for preparation and execution on defined assignments.
  • Responsible of the preparation of execution planning in accordance with the execution strategy / model- Shutdown execution model is being applied.
  • Responsible of the creation, optimization, update of Shutdown level 4 schedule and S curves (DPR) during SD activities .
  • Interacts on daily basis with project team, Offshore site, Logistics & IOP Team

ACTIVITIES

  • Ensure the specific NOC HSE procedures are adhered to at all times when preparing plans.
  • Drive an Incident Free environment / mindset within the Department and with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure all activities are planned and prepared with HSE as a priority. Preparation phase:
  • To be responsible for scoping, planning and scheduling the work orders ensuring all operation lines are captured for the jobs.
  • To tracks all work notifications and conversion of these notifications to work orders and plays a pivotal role in gate-keeping the work notifications with the project
  • To ensure value added notification/Work Order. A Value Added Work Order meets requirements for: added value, scope, completeness of information, prioritization and need date and complies with the

preparation requirement as set by the project. Any gaps in the performance of the process to be identified and measurements to be set to drive the performance improvement.

  • To prioritize and to schedule work to maximize process up-time and minimize contract services costs
  • To determine resources needed for each work order
  • To build schedules down to Level 4 Integrated planning
  • To optimize resources and ensure the coherence of the scheduling of all activities
  • To prepare S curves for progress reporting during execution
  • To follow up preparation progress
  • To define (in conjunction with the team) the milestones plan and take appropriate action to ensure achievement.
  • To define KPI's associated with efficiency and effectiveness of work order execution – PM, Schedule Compliance

Execution phase:

  • To coordinate the overhaul schedule with all disciplines during execution phase
  • To report on progress, publish the S curves on a daily basis and to update the forecast completion

Post execution phase:

  • To populate lessons learnt register
  • To compare for each task the real time frame spend Vs planned
  • To participate to close out report IOP Phase:
  • To prepare & update the project plan
  • To update the project plan for IOP periodic review (5weeks, 4 months and 3 years) to review POB histograms & co-activities with other disciplines.
  • To replace other planner during time off

All staff must be willing to participate in Crisis Response Training and to assist during Emergency Response Situations if required.
CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
Position is in NOC (Al-Shaheen Field), based in Doha, Qatar.
The position is part of the Backlog project team and is on resident basis (5 days a week). Trip to offshore are required on ah-hoc basis.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Degree or industry recognized technical qualifications
  • Significant Experience in Planning (Minimum of 7- 10 years) in the Oil & Gas industry with at least 7 years in a planning and scheduling role within Maintenance and Operations.
  • Preferably Project Management Professional PMP Certified or equivalent project management training.
  • Ability to work pro-actively under own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • Culturally aware and able to operate in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Versatile, resilient and able to interact effectively with peers and Senior Managers on a daily basis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (English)
  • Excellent experience and proficiency in Primavera P6.
  • Excellent experience and proficiency in SAP.
  • Excellent experience and proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
