Job Number 22121808 Job Category Housekeeping & Laundry Location Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel, Al Corniche Street, Doha, Qatar, Qatar VIEW ON MAP Schedule Full-Time Located Remotely N Relocation N Position Type Non-Management POSITION SUMMARY Remove and separate soiled laundry from chutes or housekeeping carts. Operate and monitor washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery in accordance with company standards. Apply correct treatment to stained items based on fabric and stain type. Maintain accurate records of items washed, number of loads, and poundage of dry cleaning and laundry. Transport cart of washed articles to dryers and place in dryers according to load . Remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain trap after each load. Monitor levels in chemical containers to ensure chemicals are being dispensed, and notify supervisor/manager of potential pump problem. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional maintain confidentiality of proprietary information protect company assets. CRITICAL TASKS Safety and Security Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE), and employ correct lifting procedures, as necessary, to avoid injury. Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor. Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment. Follow policies and procedures for the safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines. Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to management and security/safety personnel. Follow Hazardous Material Management Program procedures for handling and disposing of chemicals, fertilizer, pesticides, blood borne pathogens, etc., including using Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Complete appropriate safety training and certifications to perform work tasks. Follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters). Policies and Procedures Protect company tools, equipment, machines, or other assets in accordance with company policies and procedures. Follow company and department policies and procedures. Protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary materials and information. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors. Separate soiled articles (e.g., linens, terry, clothing) based on color, fabric, and cleaning technique requirements prior to washing or dry cleaning. Washing/Dry Cleaning Operate washing and dry cleaning machinery in accordance with company standards. Monitor machines during washing and drying cycles and address any problems. Apply correct treatment to stained items based on fabric and stain type. Maintain accurate records of items washed, number of loads, and poundage of dry cleaning and laundry. Remove clean articles from the washing and dry cleaning machines when the cycle is completed. Transport cart of washed articles to dryers and place in dryers according to load . Remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain trap after each load. Clean and Maintain Laundry and Supply Room Monitor levels in chemical containers to ensure chemicals are being dispensed, and notify supervisor/manager of potential pump problem. Laundry Quality Control Report faulty equipment, maintenance needs, and safety hazards to manager/supervisor. Monitor the working condition and cleanliness of laundry/dry cleaning machinery and equipment. Maximize efficiency and conservation of water and chemicals by controlling load and accurately specifying load content.
