Job Description – Head of Mechanical & Packaged Equipment
Job Purpose
- Responsible for lead the Mechanical and Packaged Equipment team. Responsible for coordinating all aspects of Mechanical and Package Equipment design, equipment, technical and execution definition, including planning for EPC-2, Tendering, Detailed design, Procurement, Installation, Testing, Commissioning and Start-up.
- Ensures technical requirements (e.g. project specifications, data sheets, etc.) developed during EPC-2 fully comply with project deliverables and through effective collaborations and interfaces with contractor, Qatargas and Shareholders to ensure the Mechanical equipment and equipment scope of supply is fully integrated and optimised.
- Responsible for the technical engagement with Supply Department and Long Lead Equipment OEMs and Vendors during bid clarifications and technical evaluation, award of LLEs though EPC novation.
Job Context & Major Challenge(s)
- Implements the delivery of Mechanical and Packaged Equipment design, through completing risk based evaluation of complex technical issues, ensuring Compression EPC-2 deliverables are compliant with project requirements while meeting required Qatargas quality expectations. Coordinates the delivery (content and timing) of Mechanical and Packaged Equipment systems in accordance with project requirements from Compression EPC-2 Contractor.
Person Specification – Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 20 years Engineering experience with detailed knowledge of Mechanical Engineering with a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction and operations.
- Minimum of 15 years experience in Oil and Gas
- Minimum of 5 years is similar roles
- Minimum of 2 yrs of Supervisory experience leading engineers
- Major Project ( $100M) experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, Lotus Notes, etc.
