Identify stained or damaged items. Operate and monitor washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery, including adding chemicals, and cleaning lint traps. Apply treatment to stained items. Press and fold cleaned articles. Hand wash garments. Respond to guest requests for laundry/dry cleaning, minor repair, and pressing. Maintain records of laundered items and uniforms distributed and returned. Deliver laundry/dry cleaning to guests and employees. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional maintain confidentiality of proprietary information protect company assets. CRITICAL TASKS Safety and Security Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment. Follow Hazardous Material Management Program procedures for handling and disposing of chemicals, fertilizer, pesticides, blood borne pathogens, etc., including using Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor. Follow policies and procedures for the safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines. Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE), and employ correct lifting procedures, as necessary, to avoid injury. Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to management and security/safety personnel. Complete appropriate safety training and certifications to perform work tasks. Follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters). Policies and Procedures Protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers. Protect company tools, equipment, machines, or other assets in accordance with company policies and procedures. Follow company and department policies and procedures. Ensure uniform, nametags, and personal appearance are clean, hygienic, professional and in compliance with company policies and procedures. Guest Relations Address guests service needs in a professional, positive, and timely manner. Assist other employees to ensure proper coverage and prompt guest service. Engage guests in conversation regarding their stay, property services, and area attractions/offerings. Actively listen and respond positively to guest questions, concerns, and requests using brand or property specific process (e.g., LEARN, PLEASED, Guest Response, LEAP) to resolve issues, delight, and build trust. Anticipate guests service needs, including asking questions of guests to better understand their needs and watching/listening to guest preferences and acting on them whenever possible. Communication Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette including answering the phone within 3 rings, answering with a smile in one's voice, using the callers name, transferring calls to appropriate person/department, requesting permission before placing the caller on hold, taking and relaying messages, and allowing the caller to end the call. Speak to guests and co-workers using clear, appropriate and professional language. Talk with and listen to other employees to effectively exchange information. Provide assistance to coworkers, ensuring they understand their tasks. Assists Management Ensure employee compliance with company standards and policies and external regulations (e.g., safety, OSHA, department-specific procedures such as food standards). Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Physical Tasks Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects). Laundry/Dry Cleaning Processing & Distribution Receive and document soiled linens, terry, uniforms, and/or clothing. Document guest requests for laundry/dry cleaning, minor repair, and pressing of garments in accordance with company specifications. Inform guests and employees when dry cleaning will be ready for pick-up or delivery. Distribute clean uniforms to personnel according to company specifications. Record assigned and unassigned uniforms as they are distributed, returned, or cleaned. Separate soiled articles (e.g., linens, terry, clothing) based on color, fabric, and cleaning technique requirements prior to washing or dry cleaning. Identify stained or damaged items and determine status for repair, spot treatment, rewash, or discard. Deliver clean laundry and dry cleaning to guests and employees. Washing/Dry Cleaning Apply correct treatment to stained items based on fabric and stain type. Place bundles of soiled laundry into washing or dry cleaning machine according to designated weight limits. Operate washing and dry cleaning machinery in accordance with company standards. Add cleaning chemicals to washing or dry cleaning machine based on fabric and equipment. Monitor machines during washing and drying cycles and address any problems. Remove clean articles from the washing and dry cleaning machines when the cycle is completed. Inspect cleanliness of articles removed from the washer, dryer, or dry cleaning machines and place in clean linen carts. Transport carts to proper work area for finishing. Apply chemical spray to stain in preparation for rewash. Press items based on fabric type and garment labels. Fold cleaned articles into designated , either by hand or using folding machine. Maintain accurate records of items washed, number of loads, and poundage of dry cleaning and laundry. Remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain trap after each load. Place finished dry cleaning garments in designated areas for distribution. Transport cart of washed articles to dryers and place in dryers according to load . Set dryers to designated times and temperatures based on fabrics contained in load. Remove articles from dryer when cycle is complete. Hand wash garments according to guest specific instructions. Add chemicals to washing machine prior to rewash. Clean and Maintain Laundry and Supply Room Replenish laundry supplies as needed throughout the work shift. Clean and organize items stored in laundry room, supply/storage closets, linen room, and/or uniform room. Set up and organize work station with designated supplies and equipment. Laundry Quality Control Monitor the working condition and cleanliness of laundry/dry cleaning machinery and equipment. Report faulty equipment, maintenance needs, and safety hazards to manager/supervisor. Train employees on all laundry procedures, including safety procedures and equipment operation. Maximize efficiency and conservation of water and chemicals by controlling load and accurately specifying load content.
