NAVIGATION INSTRUMENTATION TECHNICIAN – MARINE

Job Description
Instruments are operated safely and in accordance with the guidelines. Navigational Equipment/tools achieve results that are within expected limits. Results must meet quality control standards.
Experience in Charts, Computer Aids, Dividers, Nautical Almanac, Parallel rules etc.
Data is properly collected, stored and delivered to the user in a timely manner. The documentation must be current, correct and understandable
Good understanding of measurements in Chip log and sand glass, sounding lines, Drift Meter etc.
Should be ready to work with multi-domains as per the job requirements
Ability to troubleshoot systems, use computer diagnostics, perform relevant computer, electronic, and mechanical repairs on equipment, read schematics and mechanical drawings, apply time management skills etc.
Knowledge of basic wiring what equipment draws and how to get power to it, locate and comply with relevant standards, policies, applicable laws, and regulations, interface equipment, secure equipment safely
Familiarity with calibration procedures and standards, maintain calibration records, Ability to apply computer skills, Basic understanding of scientific notation
Knowledge of the scientific method, Knowledge of and ability to apply mathematical skills, including statistics, algebra, and geometry, Mechanical aptitude and dexterity, Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing etc.
You may require working overtime, nights and weekend work may be required as part of the job demands.
QUALIFICATION: – Relevant Certificate/Diploma in Instrumentation preferred
Experience:1-4 years of experience in Marine Industry for this position.
