This vacancy announcement is for a “call of interest” for consultants with expertise in Graphic Design.
THE ROSTER WILL HAVE A VALIDITY OF TWO YEARS.
During this period shortlisted candidates may receive one (or multiple) requests for interview for a position as a Graphic Designer.
INCLUSION IN THE ROSTER DOES NOT GUARANTEE ANY FUTURE CONTRACTUAL RELATION WITH WFP.
Candidates who will be placed in the roster will not be considered by WFP on a retainer or waiting contract with the Organization
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The Human Resources Division (HRM) of the United Nations World Food Programme looks after the more than 22,000 employees of the world's largest humanitarian organisation. Effective communications, including design and user experience (UX), are essential to make sure our initiatives are effectively communicated to our colleagues around the world and to achieve a high level of engagement.
To meet growing demand for this work, we are looking for graphic design talent that can support us in a range of areas. The incumbent may be assigned to support work for the HRM division overall, and/or specific initiatives driven by the different branches within the HR division. Regarding the below accountabilities/responsibilities, those listed below are indicative and a more specific TOR would eventually be developed once candidates are recruited from the roster.
ACCOUNTABITLITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supporting HR campaigns through the production of visual assets (videos, PPTs, infographics, animations, intranet pages, documents and publications) as requested.
- Working with project leads, other communications specialists and subject-matter experts to develop and support communications plans to roll out HR initiatives.
- Adhere closely to HRM brand identity and WFP branding guidance.
- In close collaboration with a team of developers and a visual designer, contribute to the UI/UX design and development of new tools and the visual improvement of existing tools.
- Contribute to additional initiatives and/or HR campaigns as required.
DELIVERABLES QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
As this is a call for roster applications, exact deliverables will be set for individual contracts.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
University degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related design fields.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience collaborating in multicultural and diverse teams.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Highly developed design skills, demonstrated in your portfolio of recent work.
- Proficiency with contemporary design and design/prototyping tools.
- Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Cloud products: XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly PowerPoint and Word.
- Creativity and willingness to receive constructive feedback.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work creatively within branding guidelines.
- Knowledge of motion graphics desirable.
Languages:
Excellent knowledge of English. Good working knowledge of a second UN language preferably French, Spanish or Arabic is desirable.
