Assistant Professor of Educational Studies
Employer: St. Mary’s College of Maryland Position Title: Assistant Professor of Educational Studies Location of employment: St. Mary’s City, MD St. Mary’s College of Maryland is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Educational Studies. Position Description: Teach college courses for undergraduate and graduate level students. Teach the integrated elementary methods sequence in the graduate program, which covers math, science, and social studies elementary methods. Teach additional courses in research methods and literacy methods. Teach additional courses in special education, educational psychology, children’s and young adult literature, or English as a Second Language. Perform document assessment data and course grades and meet regularly with students during posted office hours. Carry out an active research agenda in civic/social studies education and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals. Participate in ongoing program development and evaluation. Serve on faculty committees and other service to the college. Provide services to the local school, the department, the college, and the local school district, and the profession. Work collaboratively with the department and program to determine appropriate institution-wide service opportunities. Tenure track position. Requirements: Ph.D. in Education or related field and at least 4 years of elementary teaching experience. Commitment to culturally competent teaching/mentoring and fostering inclusive and equitable learning environments is essential. Ability to provide undergraduate student research opportunities is encouraged.
