Job Description and Requirements
PURPOSE, SCOPE AND IMPACT
* The Fleet New Technology Advisor guides fleet technical staff worldwide towards achieving a high level of maintenance and service standards and is the knowhow leader for ICRC delegations on new transportation technologies and Artificial Intelligence.
* Has an impact on the organization of technical training for delegation fleet technicians.
* Support delegations in drawing up their yearly budgets by providing technical expertise on the adoption of new technologies, for instance on establishing an electric rather than fuel – powered vehicle fleet.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Supports users by proposing technical solutions and providing the necessary training.
* Propose processes and structural changes related to vehicle service when required.
* Ensures that ICRC technicians have access to all specialized tools and manufacturer technical websites.
* Advise technicians worldwide on troubleshooting and repairing both complex Electrical and Mechanical problems.
* Provides the Fleet Management unit at Headquarter with the latest Technical manuals needed in the field.
* Follow up the latest technologies in relation to vehicle fleet needs worldwide.
* Is the know – how leader on new technologies, steering the development of fleet technical staff within the ICRC.
* Communicate with vehicle manufacturer’s technical hubs for technical support when required.
* Assume and organize the needed technical training by organizing seminars in cooperation with Fleet Management Unit at headquarters. * Assume and organize implementing fleet environmental solutions and future vehicle innovations.
RELATIONSHIPS
* Internally, interacts with logistics Country Managers, Finance & Administration Managers and Vehicle Fleet Managers in the delegations.
* Externally, Interacts with manufacturers , technical training centres , local authorities and their energy department
GENERAL DUTIES
* Be aware of the delegation’s objectives and activities
* Understand the three components of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement
* Apply the security rules at all times
* Respect and observe the staff regulations of the ICRC in Jordan.
* The employee may be asked to perform other duties not covered in this job description as well as to provide support to other departments when and if necessary
PROFESSIONAL EXPERINCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED
University degree in related field such as Mechanical Engineering,
Automation* Engineering
* 8-10 years’ experience working in transport or the automotive sector.
* Very good knowledge of various cultural norms.
* 4 years management experience.
* Previous exposure to the cultural and religious contexts.
* Experience working in a foreign country an asset.
* Previous experience in automotive dealership.
