Job Description

Location Work Type (Portal Searching) Part Time Benefits The Security Officer is to provide a safe and secure environment for all of Trinity Medical Center properties, both on and off all of our hospital campuses. Provides input in developing security procedures, which address the day to day physical investigative security needs of Trinity Medical Center. The Security Officer will assist with patients, visitors, and staff as needed or requested. The Security Officer answers telephone and radio requests, and responds to such requests. The Security Officer records relevant calls, monitors security cameras, and other equipment as directed. Successful completion of this work on a regular basis contributes to Trinity Medical Centers goal of quality patient care, also helping to provide for a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Overview
Responsibilities
* Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations; good public relations skills, including listening, providing clear explanations, giving accurate directions, displaying a helpful, accommodating attitude, and answering questions in a cheerful professional manner.

* Practice reflects knowledge of HIPAA, JCAHO, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
* Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.
* Demonstrates the knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.
* Must be able to correct decisions quickly, when resolving conflict or enforcing departmental/Medical Center policies.
* Completes all necessary paperwork.
* Responsible for overall security for Trinity Medical Center, to include off-campus locations.
* Patrols the campus externally by foot, or motor vehicle in all weather and climate conditions. * Issues tickets to staff not complying with hospital parking policy.
* Monitor’s persons accessing the Trinity Medical Center properties, to determine whether or not they are present for legitimate reasons.
* Records daily security activity pertaining to Trinity Medical Center and Department Policies and Procedures.
* Assists with patients, visitors, and staff to insure consistent care and operation of the Health System.
* Responsible for maintaining a safe environment on the Trinity Medical Center properties.
* Must maintain and effectively cover all zones while on shift.
* Ability to perform independently, within departmental policies and procedures, referring unusual circumstances and administrative problems to the appropriate Lead Officer or Manager.
* Complete Security training and in-services as necessary.
* Monitors and operates Surveillance and Access Control System.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivilant. Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred. Must possess good judgement and good communication skills. Must be honest, poised, alert, and able to handle stress and hostility whil edemonstrating positive consumer relations. Posess a valid driver's license and CPR Certificatio
