Mediation and Liaison Senior Officer
Reports To: PTI Director
Contract Conditions:
- Competitive Salary.

Summary
The Mediation and Liaison Senior Officer is responsible for facilitating missions to Amman by PTI partners, stakeholders, and project right holders and liaison with diplomats and international organizations representatives including the UN in Amman. The role entitles relationship building and networking for advocacy and influencing opportunities to support feminist peace in Yemen.

Job Duties
- Provide the highest relationship building with partners and stakeholders in order to ensure amplifying of the voices of women and enhancing accountability of duty bearers towards them.
- Facilitating visits and missions to Amman by right holders and duty bearers and provide advice for meeting relevant stakeholders and organize meetings.
- Contribute to collecting information and communicating it on timely manner about the peace process from different stakeholders including right holders and duty bearers.
- Liaison with the UN Envoy office and relevant diplomatic mission to ensure PTI work on supporting feminist peace is communicated and coordination is improved.
- Provide political advise to PTI team and ensure that the team is well informed about political trends Represent PTI in meetings, workshops, and advocacy opportunities.
- Ensure quality reporting and feedback requests and documentation.
- Identify relevant advocacy and influencing opportunities for PTI and for its right holders.
- Process necessary paperwork to hold face to face meetings in Amman.
- Financially manage budgets for activities to be held in Amman as per PTI manual.
- Contribute to narrative and financial reports of donors.
- Document success stories relevant to the activities held in Amman.
- Performs other duties as required and mutually agreed.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Masters Degree in International Relations or any social science.
- Understanding women rights, women, peace and security agenda, and Human Rights mechanisms. Requires minimum and limited supervision.
- Able to work well under pressure and assess risks.
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Demonstrated experience analyzing and resolving issues;
- Experience in project management.
- Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of right holders and duty bearers and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required
- Must possess excellent communication skills for liaising and communicating with PTI team, right holders, and duty bearers.
- Exceptional conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Able to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with right holders and duty bearers.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to coordinate and organize meetings, exhibits, and other events
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft office apps
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
Working Conditions
- Travel may be required taking into consideration security concerns and COVID-19 measures.
- Work form home and remote work environment.
- Work meetings are organised in third party premises or public spaces.
- Overtime is compensated via time in lieu policy.
