Job Summary

The Manager of Business Development and Growth will assist the Vice President for Strategic Planning, Excellence, and Growth (VPS) to develop and implement growth opportunities in a sustainable and profitable way to achieve the company strategic objectives.

The Manager of Business Development and Growth will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and managing any combination of Data, Information, and Knowledge concerning the business environment in which a company operates that, when acted upon, will confer a significant Competitive Advantage, or enable sound decisions to be made.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Scanning, exploring, and evaluating growth and diversification opportunities for APC.
  • Vetting and building strategic alliances for growth.
  • Business planning and supporting implementation of growth opportunities.
  • Evaluating strategic decisions to improve APC bottom line and internal business processes.
  • Evaluating and initiating emerging technologies and cost-optimization initiatives such as outsourcing of non-core tasks, electrifying dredging, etc.
  • Undertaking special assignments while taking long-term view of APC business (E.g. Water, Energy, Sustainability, etc.).
  • Benchmarking activities and performance with competitors in the fertilizers industry.
  • Implementing a structured competitive intelligence process.
  • Identifying decision-makers knowledge and intelligence needs.
  • Maintaining data and knowledge sources and implementing a knowledge management process.
  • Providing APC with regular actionable analysis and intelligence.

Skills

Job requirements

Qualification -Academic and Professional Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, engineering, or any related field.
  • Higher level degree is preferred: Master’s in engineering management, MBA, or any related degree.
  • Ph.D. is an advantage.
  • Professional certifications in projects management, operations, quality, business analysis, or any related certifications is an advantage.

Work Experience:

  • 10-15 years of experience in similar industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years management and supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated track record overseeing business development and contributions to organization revenue and growth.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of reporting to high level management.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong business acumen.
  • Excellent leadership, management and team working skills.
  • An understanding of what works in delivery and the ability to engage staff and stakeholders in making change.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent command of English and Arabic languages, and proficiency in Microsoft Office & other computer applications.
