CARE International in Jordan has a vacancy for the post of GBV & Civic Engagement Program Manager :
Guided by CARE’s Gender Empowerment Framework, the GBV Program Manager will lead CARE Jordan’s interventions aiming to achieve gender equality, and transform the protection environment for survivors. The Program Manager will lead the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of interventions that build the agency of vulnerable individuals, so that they understand their rights and how to defend them; change relations within communities so that men and boys, women and girls reject GBV; and transform structures so that laws, policies and response services provide equitable, and dignified access to accountable GBV response services.
The GBV Manager is responsible for the adaptation and alignment of projects and activities with CARE’s vision, goals, program principles, standards, approaches and Strategic Plan, CARE International Humanitarian Strategy, and humanitarian standards (SPHERE, Good Enough Approach, IASC Gender Guidelines, etc.) and respond to the needs of refugee and Jordanian populations. The Program Manager is to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness of the program management, delivery and accomplishment of program goals and objectives.
Having Gender Equality (GE) and Gender Based Violence (GBV) experience, (S)He will develop and nurture relationships and partnerships with local authorities, NGOs and other agencies, to promote and mainstream GE and GBV Protective principles.
In addition, the GBV Program Manager will lead development of bottom up approaches that harness civic engagement and involve communities in identifying and addressing challenges within their communities. This includes CARE Jordan’s existing Youth Committees and Women Leadership Councils.
The GBV Program Manager will supervise a team of project managers and project officers responsible for the implementation of projects and related activities as well as the coordination with other CARE Jordan programs to ensure GBV prevention is mainstreamed across all areas of operations.
