Position: Child Protection Coordinator
Location: Amman, Jordan with travel to meet partner’s staff in the relevant hubs
Duration: 1 year, part time contract 20%

Position Summary:
The CP Coordinator will support the implementation and support the field teams in Syria, particularly will have a key role in building the team capacity to ensure the quality of CP services. As the CP Coordinator for Whole of Syria you will refer directly to the PTM. S/He will be responsible initially to revise materials, tools and SOPs, followed by the overall planning, monitoring of activities and capacity building of staff.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Develop and revise tools, guidance noted and standard operating procedures to ensure quality delivery of CP services in target locations
Support the development of capacity building plans for Child Protection partners and development/revision of relevant training curricula and materials.
Provide regular coaching/trainings on CP to partner’s Child Protection personnel
Work with the Protection Director and Protection Manager to oversee implementation of Child Protection project activities ensuring that services are delivered on time and in line with international standards
Ensure that Child Protection partner field staff understand the requirements for implementation
Ensure Child Protection program is implemented in ways responsive to communities, partners and children in line with RI’s principles, values and strategic plan and compliant with RI’s procedures
Work with the Child Protection partner team staff to develop work-plans and follow up with team members regularly to ensure that activities are on track
Support the PPM in preparing timely and high quality programme and donor reports on project activities in compliance with internal RI requirements and any relevant external donor requirements.
Work with MEAL team and relevant partner to identify and incorporate project suitable accountability mechanisms
Work with partners to lead discussions with communities and beneficiaries on programme design and project review, as agreed with the Protection Director and Protection manager
Actively contribute to the creation and implementation of CP strategy to meet the needs of children in the target locations, and contribute to design and implementation assessments to inform program priorities for assigned geographic locations.

Qualifications & requirements:
This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or competency required.
Master’s degree in social work, social sciences or related field with a minimum of 3 years of postlicensure experience in conflict context
Minimum of two years professional experience in emergency programming
Excellent knowledge and skills in child rights, child protection, child/youth/community resilience, psychosocial support, community/youth development and mobilization, especially in an emergency context
Experience working with at-risk children and families,
Experience of remote managing programs in complex settings and experience working with local partners.
Proven capacity to coordinate, and coach staff in Child Protection skills and programme management
Good analytical and problem-solving skills and detail oriented;
Experience in conducting Assessments
Experience with CP program tools and monitoring
Experience in designing and delivering trainings
Ability to analyze information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically
Excellent time management skills;
Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen and respect for colleagues.
Must be capable of working both individually and as part of a team;
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
Demonstrated ability to work and manage across multi-functional units
Organized and able to independently manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines
Cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Ability to think critically and creatively;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange, Windows operating systems
Proficiency in Excel, SPSS, or another statistical analysis software preferred
Language Skills:
Fluent Arabic language communication skills required (both oral and written)
Very good English skills capacity (both oral and written)
