Position title: Semi- independent Living Programme Coordinator (Aqaba / Irbid)

Working location: Irbid / Aqaba

Direct Supervisor : Village Director

Technical Supervisor : National Youth Care Advisor .

Region: Jordan – Amman

Mission of the position:

SILP Coordinator are responsible for SILP services for young people from one programme/location who leave care from CVs, foster families, YFs. From the age of 18-23 years old.

Youth leaders

Local Youth Coordinator

Youth

National youth advisor

National program development director

Village director

Other departments at national or location level ( Finance / HR / ICT and log)

Key performance areas and main responsibilities:

Activities related to the preparation of children and young people for leaving SOS care and assistance for inclusion in the SILP:

Participation in consultation meetings with children and young people related to the preparation for leaving SOS care.

Support for young people and direct social work on the ground to find a place to live.

Support, counselling and assistance to young people to apply, find and start a suitable job.

Support, counselling and assistance of young people for application and admission to university and student accommodation.

Support, counselling and assistance in directing and receiving young people in another social or health service.

Activities related to tracking and control in the adaptation and success of young people in their independent lives.

Systematic maintenance of direct contact with young people supporting in SILP

Maintaining a systematic relationship with a representative of another social service, a landlord, an employer and representatives of the Uni

Informing the team of SOS Youth Homes xxx in case of crises situation with young person

Social work with the children housed in the Youth Home in the preparation of the care plan and the individual development plan for children over 17 years of age;

Maintains contact with the social workers from the DPAs who work with the biological parents and dpAs from the municipality working with the child;

Works with the biological relatives of the children, including direct correspondence or related official institutions, accompanying the children on a visit to their relatives, mediation in conducting correspondence, preparation of documents, etc.;

Assistance in preparing, issuing, legalizing documents on the civil-legal status of children

Record-keeping

Forms a dossier for each young person included in the SILP

Request and monitor whether the dossier contains all necessary documents and materials;

Stores the file and guarantees confidentiality of the information;

Prepares a monthly and annual report on its activities under the SILP

Maintains a Database of Young People included in the SILP

Professional development and qualification

Participates in forms organized by the Association for upskilling;

Participates on the proposal of its direct manager in forms organized outside the Association for upskilling.

General activities related to the work in the Youth Facilities

Promotes the activity of the Association by keeping its good name and showing loyalty;

Participates in general events of the National Organization (Youth Home) and the Association;

Performs other legal tasks assigned to him by the Head of SOS Youth Homes
