Project Coordinator (Family Mentor)

Core Responsibilities:

Providing assessment of the needs of the program participants and their families, including screening for eligibility and suitability, and to ensure safety measures related to COVID 19.

Support in contacting assigned households to schedule initial visit

Conducting initial household visits which include the administration of a household survey provided by the project

Conduct frequently (i.e. weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc. depending on the project management requirements) home visits in a team of two for each household in the caseload and ad hoc visits if the participant required additional support.

Engage members of the household to explain the program interventions and goals in detail.

Support mapping service providers in the program implementation locations in close coordination with the project team.

Support the families with protection referral services in coordination with the relevant specialist within the organization.

Orientation, Counselling and mentoring Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and group mentoring and coaching to increase the psychosocial well-being, self-efficacy, and resilience of all households including in-crisis intervention, healthy relationships, constructive coping, resiliency, and interdisciplinary teamwork.

Build awareness on key social issues e.g. education and school dropout, child labor, child marriage, gender equal practices within the household, basic legal awareness and women empowerment.

Build awareness on key health issues e.g. food security, safe drinking water, balanced diet, hygienic practices, reducing vulnerabilities to diseases

Support households in development of social networks and encourage community participation and activities to build social cohesion.

Facilitate community groups and meetings, support with financial literacy and solving debt,

Guide participants through challenges, either related to the program or communities and their families

Mentor participants, boost confidence, and encourage positive world views and coping mechanisms

Link participants with basic services including health, education, safety nets, and community support groups, with the guidance of Project Managers

Data collection Monitoring and Reporting Responsibilities

Verify households’ contact information received from national databases and reporting on the results using project-provided templates and protocols either on-line template or hard copies.,

Ensure the completeness, accuracy and quality of related data collected for the assigned household case management

Upload accurate households’ data to the information management system

Monitor participant progress through individual meetings to ensure that they are on track to meet related Graduation outcomes

Support in data collection, monitoring, and evaluation efforts in coordination with MEAL units;

Provide monthly, quarterly progress reports in addition to reporting against Key performance indicators.

Coordinate with the broader technical unit in Jordan to share best practices and lessons learned

Requirements:

- Lives in North Amman, preferrably Irbid

- Available Immediately

- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, psychological counseling or social work.

- Strong English and Arabic language skills (written and spoken)

- Previous experience in the direct provision of one-on-one and group counseling and PSS services to vulnerable groups, including refugees. Experience providing family therapy and coaching or other protection interventions, such as case management, is an advantage.

- Knowledge and experience applying cognitive behavior therapy approaches a plus.

- Understanding of protection issues affecting vulnerable families and youth (including GBV and child protection), and interventions for addressing these issues
