This position is located in the headquarters of the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen (OSESGY) in Amman, Jordan, and is responsible for both OSESGY and the United Nations Mission to support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA) operations. The focus of this position is to direct and oversee strategic and cross-cutting mission support functions such as Human Resources, Financial Resourcing and Performance Management, Field Technology, and Procurement with a view to ensuring coherence in forecasting, performance monitoring, planning, and coordination related to the operational and resourcing activities of the two Missions. The Chief, Operations and Resource Management will report to the Chief of Mission Support (CMS) for OSESGY and UNMHA.
Education
Advanced University degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, management, human resources management, finance, accounting, information technology or related fields. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Work Experience
At least ten (10) years of progressively responsible and diverse professional experience in public or business administration, human resource management, finance, accounting, information technology or related area is required.
Experience in handling complex organizational issues at the international level is desirable.
Hands-on-experience with UN administrative/financial policies and practices is desirable.
Experience collaborating with remote service centres providing administrative support to the entity is desirable.
Experience providing administrative services to or in a field operation of the United Nations Common System or a comparable international organization is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English (oral and written) is required.
